Silly Sam

Sam is doing the cutest things...I actually want to write them down for my record, so if you want to read what he's doing as well...go for it! :)
-He plays with his ear when he's thinking or looking around. He bends it and puts his finger in it.
-When laying on his back, his left hand goes CRAZY! He looks like he's dribbling a basketball at full speed. Some think he's playing basketball, I think he's conducting a symphony. :)
-Sam scrunches his face up and closes his eyes. He does this and then breathes in and out of his nose as fast as he can, when he gets excited. It's hilarious.
-Sam growls like a bear. He can be sitting quietly, and then he lets out this tumultuous ROAR! I say, "Good job, Sammy! Now what does a bear say again?" And then he just looks at me blankly and smiles. He'll get there. :)
-In the morning, when Jason or I go in to get him out of his crib, we say, "Who's waking up in here?" and peek over. He smiles, stretches his body out, and lifts the covers over his eyes. We play peek-a-boo with the blankets which he finds amusing. [Disclaimer: I know we're not supposed to use blankets in the crib, but I'm sorry...it's freezing in his room. The old sleep sack and layers don't cut it for warmth. I also have the bumper in his crib (gasp!) because I've come in when his arm is stuck between the slats of the crib and he's scared and crying. Besides, I think the animals on the bumper are his friends, as he talks to them and scratches the bumper to go to sleep. :) ]

What a sweet baby! Each morning when we wake up, I say, "Thank you God for another day of life and for such a sweet, healthy baby!" God is good.

Aww, this post makes me smile. Our boys have some similarities :) I too continue to use my bumpers. Ezra likes his deer & squirrels (his "friends"), and also scratches at them. We ALSO have used blankets pretty much from day 1 and will continue to. Ezra really likes to pull them up close to his face as he's falling asleep, but can't stand to have his hands covered, so always gets it pushed down far enough in the end that it's not up around his mouth suffocating him. I love the stretch and giggle that I get when I come in to get him out of his crib :) He's already smiling when I get there, b/c I also start talking to him as soon as I walk through is doorway...I love that they know our voice! Aren't these boys fun!! :) I love reading your posts b/c it's fun to experience these things together and share about it via blogland!! :) Happy new Year!
