The other night we had our Bible study over for a "game night." Only three other people could come, but it was still a fun time had by all! We were discussing serious topics at hand, including reality TV. And yes, inevitably, American Idol became the topic of discussion. As some were saying the men were much stronger in vocals this year, I had to confess...I thought one was quite talented but extremely awkward in his stage presence, Scott MacIntyre. He just seemed so disoriented and strange. As I continued on my rant, the couple across the table said simultaneously: BECAUSE HE'S BLIND!
I was so embarrassed. I just screamed and covered my face, saying, "This always happens to me!" In fact, it does. It never fails if I'm in a parking lot at the grocery store or Target, and someone is crossing ever-so-slowly, my impatience gets the better of me and I shout, "Get a move on!" (windows closed, of course)...and I then find they are crippled or have some sort of disability. Jason looks at me in shock and disdain and says, "Honey!"
Wow...I really need to learn not to prejudge. And to be more patient.
